Glambitious Life: First Day of School

I made this a while ago, but all of my classes are exactly as listed on here.

So as I might have mentioned before... I'm a senior in high school. And today was my last first day of high school. I basically knew all of the things our school does on the first day, and it seemed to go really smoothly. I actually got my locker open on the first try! LOL! I didn't get lost looking for any classes, unlike last year when we moved to a new building. I didn't even really get any homework, other then papers that my mom has to sign (All of the papers outlining class rules and such.) And things were kept really simple when we did do anything in class. I've always loved how simple things were on the first day of school. Many people find it boring, but I've always liked it for some reason.

The day seemed to fly by really quick, although... they decided to add 4 minutes to the school day this year. Ick. And my study hall teacher does not allow music to be listened to in his study hall. I'll have to find some way to survive... BOOK TIME! LOL! I didn't today, but I WILL be bringing in a good book tomorrow. :) (Perhaps I should do a whats in my school purse video?) But my schedule seems really easy, and most of my teachers seem really nice. Even speech seemed fun and easy! Today we were given a random topic to give a short speech on, and many of them were pretty funny. Mine was to try to sell my outfit for $100, LOL. Which reminds me, I was going to do an outfit of the day. But I couldn't seem to get a good picture of my outfit today... I will work on this in the future.

Basically my outfit was a black shirt with a built in zebra print cami kind of thing (it's shown in my back to school haul.) And a knee length black skirt. I put a little black belt between the shirt and the skirt to make them flow better together. For accessories I just put on a silver statement necklace with little circles and things dangling off of it, though I tucked the dandles into the scoop neck of the shirt and it looked amazing! I also wore some big silver earrings (both the necklace and earrings and in my back to school haul.) Then I added some bangles and one bangle with zebra print. I also added a black ring and a black bow headband. Then I added in some black dress shoes. As for my hair I just wore my extensions and had my hair in loose curls.

So I'd have to say... I had a pretty good day. Everything went smoothly and I knew what I was doing and where I was going. Though I am kind of sad this is the last time I'll get to do this in high school. The first day of school was always my favorite since elementary school. But it's also nice to be a senior and to know that I'll be graduating in may. I hope your first day of school was amazing and I'd love to hear about it in the comments of this blog! I hope everyone has a fabulous year, and I'll be sure to keep the school blogs coming throughout the year. As well as other blogs.

Glambitious Life: My Back to School Nightmares

Hey everyone! Starting this week I will be posting back to school blogs, and I'll also try my best to post more often. I'll be posting on things from preparations, morning routines, and many other school survival blogs within the next 3 weeks, and I'll also continue with school blogs throughout the school year.  Feel free to leave some suggestions as to what I should do school blogs on and I'll try my best to get to them as soon as possible. Back to school blogs are one of my favorites to read, as well as ones that I am VERY excited to write. To kick off my back to school posts, I'd like to write a get to know me kind of post, about something that just seems to happen to me every year, back to school nightmares!

Every year, usually around mid-July, I start getting these crazy dreams about the first day of school. And in these dreams, something always seems to go wrong. If it's not the fact that I haven't gone back to school shopping and don't have a cute new outfit and school supplies for the first day, or i showed up to school in my pajamas, there's always something that just doesn't go right. Like waking up too late, or looking at the clock when I'm not even half way done getting ready and realizing that I already missed half the day. Or that I wore a really nice outfit, but forgot to do my hair and make-up! Or it could be that I showed up 30 minutes late to every class because I got stuck at my locker, or I just spent to much time talking to my friends and didn't even hear the bell, LOL. It could even be that I took out my phone and just really randomly started texting in the middle of a class and got my phone taken away. LOL!

So I would definitely say that I do get at least a little anxious about the first day of school, as many others probably do too.  Even though I know I never would show up in my pajamas, or be that late to school, or forget anything on the first day. And I'm almost certain that I'll have a new outfit and all my basic supplies by the time the first day rolls around. Does anyone else get these crazy dreams about back to school?! Of course I also have the crazy dreams at the beginning of the summer that the school year has been extended and we have to come back for a few weeks, I get so mad! LOL! I need to stop eating sweets before bed.

How do you guys like these get to know me kinds of posts? If you like them I could do them a little more often. And also as I get more into back to school posts, and back to school season comes more into full swing. It's still good to enjoy the last few weeks of summer, while making a few preparations. :) I can't wait to write more back to school posts!

Glambitous Life: GirlSense shutting down?

***Note: This is not one of my normal blogs. But I feel that I need to express my opinion on this, as this was once a huge part of my life, and has contributed a little to who I am now. This is also my first personal blog on this site which I will be calling Glambitious Life.***

A couple of years ago, I was a member of the website GirlSense, a social fashion network for girls (and boys too.) I joined on December 14, 2007, back when I was in 7th grade. The website was practically my life for almost 3 years. GirlSense was a creative outlet for me, not only to create clothes, but other art as well. I felt as if I was a pretty designer too, ha. GirlSense was also a way for me to find friends, especially since I was a rather awkward child back then. I had a great group of friends, and one friendship even turned into a relationship that lasted over a year. I would have been devastated to just have all of that ripped away from me all at once, heartbroken even. GirlSense was who I was back in 7th- 9th grade. It was GirlSense that gave me the passion to become a blogger and soon a YouTuber.

I don't really get on GirlSense much anymore, and when I do I don't really play on it. But somehow, this still seems to really affect me. I got on GirlSense last night, just to see what's going on and I saw on the front page that GirlSense is shutting down on July 18th, 2012, with no explanation. So I did a little research to find out why the website that had been my life at one point is closing. From what I have found, it mostly has to do with money problems. It seems that GirlSense's biggest sponsors, IAC and StarNet, are backing out of their sponsorship and they can't get enough money to run the site from advertisements. They would rather shut down the site than have users pay for membership.

Browsing around a bit, I have found many users who want to try to save the site. Putting messages in their boutiques, and even creating petitions to save the site. I know this would have been my reaction a few years ago, but to be honest, it probably won't change anything, though it is always worth a try. The decision seems to be final though. The least GirlSense could do is give an explanation as to why they are shutting down the site. Whether it be money or another reason.

I may have moved on from GirlSense, especially as I'm going into my senior year of high school, but it will always be a part of me. I can not deny those 3 years of my life, and I am saddened that it is shutting down. I know that GirlSense means a lot to many people of all ages, and they are devastated to see it come to an end. Anyone would be sad to have their favorite website, or any part of their life taken away from them. GirlSense has given so many people a way to express themselves, and has connected so many people into close friendships. Friendships that may be coming to an end if GirlSense is their only way to communicate.

Feel free to leave your thoughts on the closing of GirlSense, or any other website in the comments. If you need anyone to talk to, feel free to leave a comment and I'll be sure to get back to you.

A Message From GirlSense

In the past week I've been visiting GirlSense frequently looking for more information about the GirlSense shutdown, or to see if anything has changed. GirlSense has released the following message in regards to the shutdown.

If you are a GirlSense member, and would like to save your fashions from GirlSense, a website called toosh.net has been created where you can save your fashions to your computer. Please be aware that this may no longer work after GirlSense has shutdown on July 18th.

Summer 2012 is Here!

For my first blog post, and I must say I am VERY excited about starting this blog, I want to talk about one of my favorite times of year. SUMMER VACATION! I just love the hot weather (crazy right?! But i just can't stand the cold!), relaxation, swimming pools, and not having to wake up early to go to school. (But really who likes to get up early? LOL!)

So as of today, I am officially a Senior in high school. Meaning that this is my last high school summer vacation, and i really want to make this a summer to remember. I really want to try to get out of the house and get to the pool, or even just go on a nice walk once in a while. Maybe I'll even try some new things, but I'm a pretty shy person. I also really want to tackle the summer goals I've set for myself. Many of them are beauty related, of course!

Some of my summer goals include, some may even seem kind of silly LOL!

♥ Get into better shape- I want to to this to lose some weight or course. But I also want to feel better, and feel better about myself. This can be difficult for many to accomplish, but I'll post some tips as I find things that work. If you are planning to get into shape this summer. It would probably be best to start off slow. Slow and steady wins the race.
      - i want to try to do some light work outs at least twice a week
      - i also want to try to eat healthier foods and control my consumption of junk food.

♥ Get off the computer and go outside- So usually, I spend a lot of summer cooped up in my room playing The Sims 3 (awesome game!), watching YouTube videos, or sitting on Facebook. While these things are fun, they shouldn't make up my whole summer! I need to get off the computer more this summer and get some fresh air. And maybe some color, LOL.

♥ Organize those messy areas of my room. Drawers, Closet floor, cabinets, ect. Out of site isn't out of mind!

♥ Start posting videos to my YouTube channel. I'll post the link to my channel after I upload a video.

♥ And most importantly, I just want to make this summer last. I want to enjoy my summer and not rush into back to school season (another one of my favorite times of year). Summer only lasts 3 months, and I want to make the best of every last day of it!

I'd love to hear what you are planning for this summer! Leave any plans, goals, or anything you want to do this summer in the comments. I'll eventually be posting more blogs relating to beauty, fashion, or anything!
